Privacy & cookie notice

This notice explains what happens to information when you use PayClear UK. In short: the salary and tax figures you type are processed in your browser, are not stored on our servers, and are never shared with advertisers or partners.

The figures you enter

Calculations run in your browser. Salary, profit, hours and similar inputs are not written to a database and are not transmitted to any partner. If we record that a calculator was used, we record only broad, non-identifying detail — such as which calculator it was and a wide income band — never the exact figures.

Cookies and similar storage

Strictly necessary: a small amount of local storage remembers your cookie choice and your selected tax year. This is required for the site to work and is set without consent.

Advertising: with your consent, Google AdSense sets cookies to serve and measure ads. Google may use them to show personalised advertising. Until you make a choice, advertising storage, ad personalisation, ad-user data and analytics storage are disabled. The Google advertising loader may make a limited request without setting advertising cookies so it can apply that consent state. You can review Google's practices at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites and manage ad settings at myadcenter.google.com.

Measurement: with your consent, we count page views and calculator completions in aggregate so we know which tools to improve.

If you reject non-essential cookies, no advertising or measurement cookies are set.

Advertising and affiliate links

The site is funded by advertising and, in some places, affiliate links that are always labelled. A commercial relationship never changes a calculation, a result, or the order in which results are shown. See the affiliate disclosure for the full policy.

Legal basis and your rights

Where we rely on consent (advertising and measurement) you may withdraw it at any time using the controls above. Because we do not hold accounts or store the figures you enter, we normally hold no personal data about you to access, correct or erase. Under UK GDPR you can still contact us with a request or a complaint, and you may complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
